A lost soul walking on a lonely road

Dressed poorly

Heavy steps taken

Back hunched slightly,

Just one of many I’ve notice lately,

Even a woman, head shaved and barefoot exalting her “nothingness”,

Others trudging along a nearby street or highway miles from a small town,

Dry summer fields in all directions while the sun bakes from on high

Scorches with struggles, disappointments

Human efforts with failures and heartaches

Thickened skin of a soul, rough and with a hardened heart;

Cars pass by at exaggerated speeds

Few drivers notice, fewer even take a look

The true value of each soul unseen, the price in the cost once poured out!

The paths of human choices mysterious, somehow taken,

Though in a walk of circumstances much more than luck or chance;

The Ancient One, Messiah’s Cross alone, Heaven’s Sovereignty draws His own

Rich and poor, weak and strong

Young and old, male and female,

Personal enlightenment becomes more than the sun and moon, even stars

While Divine Compassion looks intensely from above

Watches each footstep taken on His Earth, nothing missed,

The Lord waits patiently for the designed, created opportunities to unfold

The times set for them

Exact places to live, to be

Optimal moments, optimal circumstances indeed

People and places brought together in time to face spiritual needs

That they might hunger and thirst for Truth

That they might search and seek greater Kingdom purpose and meaning

And that they might finally reach out for God

Grasp for the Savior’s reality at last in simple prayer

To touch the kind hand of Peace and see the Face of Love

The Living God who draws all His own to Himself!
